Bea finds her blog!
avatar

Bea asked to see some photos from when she was younger, so we went through her blog and looked at various dates, stories, photos and videos!

She thought it was really funny, and we talked about needing to carry on the story!

So this post is Bea’s first entry. What do you want to say Bea?

I want to talk about Willa my dog. She is funny and play bites you. She can run around and kiss me with her wet nose. She can sit on me and she is getting heavier as she grows up. See some photos below.

Hefalump on the knees!!

You’ll have seen several pics with her on my knees. She remembers the later ones largely because I found them funny when compared to the tiny baby photos.

Here she asked to be on my knees and for the photo to be taken…

Spooky picture from Galé in Portugal
avatar

This was our last night in Portugal. Usually we go for a stroll between courses; largely to keep her occupied. We had been playing (as a family) with panoramic photos where people moved between images (that are later joined or “stitched” together to appear as one), and she suggested she moved in this one, creating something that is a little bit spooky.

We also recreated our standard “8 legged / 4 armed monster” which I can confirm is tough to take on a phone (without dropping) aided by alcohol intake… 😉

Break update – half a cast
avatar

Doctor visit proved positive regarding her broken arm. Mummy reports they were happy with the mend and were happy to throw the sling away and reduce the cast down to a halfie – basically giving her the elbow movement back.

This meant fresh drawings and a happier child.

Interestingly she has become more dexterous with her right hand through all this; she was predominantly left handed (writing) with occasional right handed (breakfast and soup). It will be interesting to see what happens when the cast comes off in just over a week (frustratingly after her birthday party!).

Meantime here’s the happy patient.

Busted!
avatar

After all the “dangerous” things she tries and does she fell over whilst running at school, landed on her arm and bust it. Booger.

Update: I forgot to include that whilst trying to be light hearted in response to Bea telling me about her break I clearly went too far as she fairly quickly admonished me with, “Daddy please can you be more serious about this“!

And the morning after as I was preparing to leave for work she woke and explained it hurt sometimes but it was repairing itself on other times. I was allowed to draw something on the cast so have added my scribbles to the images below.

Another first… for more than just Bea… Roller blading!
avatar

As an Xmas present Bea received some wonderfully pink roller blades. Yet more perfectly they are the same make as knee, elbow and (as yet unused) wrist protectors we bought for cycling. So with Bea super keen to get to use them out of doors, it somehow seemed appropriate for me to purchase some Daddy sized blades and have a go myself!

I have a sneaky feeling that Bea was doing better than me as I was being quite slow and tip toed about back in the same car park where we learned to cycle all those months ago.

See for yourself. The first video is early on in the session. The second video is 30mins later and you can clearly see how fast her confidence has grown, despite the crash at the end. You’ll be pleased to hear she got up, we brushed her down, made her laugh, and off she went again. 🙂

Four armed monster

We went for a dog walk and the end of the day was just stunning. The long shadows were wonderful walking across the last field, so after some normal shots we took some photos of a “four armed monster”!!

Couple of photos that were rather nice:

First FULL day beating

Bea made her first full day of beating!

Ollie went off for a little walk at lunch time so we sat on the end of the car boot and chatted for the hour – cold it may have been but the conversation was warm.

She did need a couple of drives to be “walked” on my shoulders, but that’s ok. 🙂

Here are some wonderful shots from the day:
